Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Crayonify ("we", "our", or "the app") handles information when you use our iOS app. We've kept it short and plain because our policy is simple: we collect as little as possible, and we don't sell your data.
What we process
Photos you choose
When you tap to generate a coloring page, the photo you select is sent over an encrypted connection to our processing backend and to our image processing provider, Fal.ai, which generates the line-art version. The original photo and the generated page are returned to your device. We retain the original and the generated page on our servers for up to 30 days so that we can re-deliver the result if a request is interrupted, then they are automatically deleted.
Purchases
If you buy a subscription or one-time purchase, the transaction is handled by Apple via the App Store. We use RevenueCat to manage entitlements (i.e. to know whether your device should have premium access). RevenueCat receives a randomly generated, app-specific identifier — not your name, email, or Apple ID.
Device permissions
- Photo library: required so you can pick a photo to convert and save finished coloring pages back to your library.
- Camera (optional): if you choose to take a new photo to convert.
Permissions are requested by iOS at the time of use and can be changed any time in Settings.
What we don't do
- We don't require an account or sign-in.
- We don't run third-party advertising or cross-app tracking SDKs.
- We don't sell or rent personal information.
- We don't use your photos to train any models.
Third-party services
Each of these providers has its own privacy practices governing the data they receive:
- Apple — App Store, in-app purchases, App Store Connect analytics (aggregated, anonymous). Privacy policy.
- Fal.ai — image processing provider that converts your photo into the coloring page. Privacy policy.
- RevenueCat — manages subscription entitlements via an anonymous device identifier. Privacy policy.
Children's privacy
Crayonify is family-friendly and intended to be used by parents alongside their kids. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because the app has no accounts or user profiles, there is no way to associate use of the app with a specific person.
Data retention
Original photos and generated coloring pages are stored on our servers for up to 30 days, then automatically deleted. Aggregated, anonymous logs (e.g. error rates) may be kept briefly to keep the service running reliably.
Your rights
Because we don't maintain user accounts or store personal information tied to you, there is generally nothing for us to look up, export, or delete. If you have a question or specific request, email us and we'll do our best to help.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect the most recent change.
